Blogger is “working on it”

I’m not going to hold my breath, but the folks at Blogger say they’re working on the problem that caused me to redirect here in the first place:

We’ve noticed that a number of users have had their blogs mistakenly marked as spam, and wanted to sound off real quick to let you know that, despite it being Friday afternoon, we are working hard to sort this out. So to those folks who have received an email saying that your blog has been classified as spam and can’t post right now, we offer our sincere apologies for the trouble.

We hope to have this resolved shortly, and appreciate your patience as we work through the kinks.

Yes, well, thanks for nothing …

Meanwhile, it appears that Firefox is accepting the redirect setting I put on the Blogger version of this sucky blog … but IE is 404′ing it.  Dammit.  So it’s just going to be a painful weekend, I guess, while I try to decide whether to leave the redirect as it is, more or less automatic, or to put a message in the template of the Blogger version.

I’m not techie enough to do all this …

Home away from home

Well, here is what Blast Off! has been reduced to …

I don’t know what the deal is with Blogger, but it looks like that shut-down is going to last through the weekend, at least.  So here we are.  I’ve redirected the main URL here … I don’t know whether individual posts go here or what yet, and I don’t have time to play with it very much other than to put this post up.  But at least I’m back in business, albeit on a limited basis, and if I have a chance to move some of the bells and whistles over here later (including all the now-missing Haloscan comments), I will.

In the meantime, sorry for the inconvenience … but obviously this isn’t the only blog, sucky or otherwise, facing this problem.  Thanks for your patience.
